My First Day-Feb. 2, 2007

OK, so I've decided to join the crazy world of internet blogging. This is truly a case of "WTF" and I might as well give it a shot. You never know who might read this.

A little about myself. I am an insane young old man (or is it an old young man?) of 42. I love drag racing, cutting my teeth at good ol' Minnesota Dragways at the tender age of 6. Hmmm, 36 years of attending drag races. Could that be why I suffer from Tinnitus? I'm also an avid follower of my beloved small market Minnesota Twins and Minnesota Wild. (Did I say I live in Minnesota?) I also have an ongoing love affair with NASCAR. I followed NASCAR before it was hip, before Dale Earnhardt died.

Most of all, I love my two boys, Zach 13, and Matt 11, my wife Suzi, and my three step-children, Bobby 16, Paige 12, and my little peanut, Julia 10, whose lives I have been a part of for nearly 8 years.

Suzi and I love to travel, and sometimes she even sends me off to the races with my brother. Suz and I like going to Vegas, always in October for the NHRA drag races and in 2007, we will take in the April event as well. My bro Al and I will attend the US Nationals (The World's Largest Drag Race) in Indy on Labor Day weekend. I've had some great times at the race track. People always wonder how I can be at the track for 10-12 hours watching cars go fast. It's an experience like nothing else, especially drag racing. To experience a pair of Funny Cars or Top Fuel Dragsters going side-by-side down the quarter-mile is like having a front row seat to an earthquake.

Well, enough for now. I need to check how my bids are going for my Diamond Mind Baseball club, the Homestead Grays. The auction for free agents is going on now and I have 23 players so far. I have to have at least 25 with a max of 40 and each team in our 24-team league is limited to spending $400.
